Poker Etiquette

Yes, there is an etiquette to playing poker. It helps to know a few things when sitting at the table.

  1. Don't show your cards. Even if you fold your hand, knowing the cards you fold while a hand is in progress can inadvertently change the end result.
  2. Take your turn. Don't fold or bet out of turn.
  3. Don't "splash" the pot. Splashing the pot is the term used to describe throwing chips into the pot. Your bet should be placed so that the table can clearly see that the stated bet meets the chips placed into the pot.
  4. Remember, it's all for fun! Don't take yourself or the game too seriously.
